At the age of eleven, John Patrick Coughlan (Johnny Jackpot) first earned money as an artist by drawing faces on the ground with barbecue charcoal at a Rockaway Beach block party. Since then, Johnny has worked for assorted clients as a storyboard artist, editorial illustrator, cartoonist, graphic artist and sign painter in the fields of publishing, retail, film, television and fashion.

Born and raised in New York City, Johnny is also a freelance session musician. His banjo playing has been used in national television spots and radio spots for clients such as Volkswagen and Wal-Mart.

His musical performances have been featured on Fox 5 News in New York City, 99.5 FM WBAI Pacifica Radio in New York City, NY1 and in The New York Times. Some venues where he has performed: Cafe Wha?, The Continental, Superfine, The Cooper Union, The Century Club, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, Sidewalk Cafe, O'Lunney's Times Square Pub, Southpaw, The Irish Repertory Theatre, MoMA PS1, Guild Hall, Carolines On Broadway, Smalls Jazz Club, Columbia University and Madison Square Garden
